Leadership Team
Joe Rickard
Joseph Rickard founded INTELLECTIVE SOLUTIONS in October, 2003. Under his direction, the company has brought together an outstanding team of training leaders, subject matter experts, designers and developers to work with graphic communications industry clients to improve their sales and sales management effectiveness.
Joe frequently speaks, writes and leads workshops on sales, business development and sales management within the Graphics Communications Industry.
Prior to forming Intellective Solutions, Joe was the President of the Communication and Systems Group (CISG) at Sharp Electronics. His responsibilities included managing product development, marketing, sales and channel distribution of all Sharp's mobile and business products. Prior to joining Sharp, he was a vice-president at Xerox Corporation, where he directed marketing operations and field support for Xerox's office products and solutions in the eastern United States .
Joe is an adjunct professor at Dominican College in NY and a Board Member of the Palisades Institute of Dominican College. He holds an MBA in Marketing from Hofstra University , NY and an MS in Education from St. John's University , N.Y.
Dick Harrell
Dick is Intellective Solutions' senior manager for industry and product content development.
Dick Harrell worked for 20 years at Addressograph-Multigraph in both senior sales and headquarters positions. As National Sales Manager for AM and Director of Training for AM, his accomplishments are widely recognized. Dick's experiences further included senior level marketing and training positions at Canon Corporation and Xerox Corporation. After a variety of significant roles including National Training Manager and National Sales Manager at Canon, Dick became Vice President of Canon's Graphic Systems.
He led the successful launch of the Canon CLC Product Line in the US and later joined Xerox as the World Wide Manager of Market Development for Color. Dick is a frequent contributor to Larry Hunt Publications. He is an adjunct professor and is a well known leader in the Graphic Arts Industry. In the past year, Dick has led efforts to develop sales management, selling digital printing and vertical market workshops and courses for Intellective Solutions' clients.
Frank Kanonik
Frank works with Intellective Solutions as a training designer, developer and presenter. He is a printing industry expert on digital workflow and production printing operations.
He is currently president of DigitalPrintInfo, LLC, which consults with graphic arts companies to implement or grow their print offerings. Frank has held positions at PIA/GATF brings over 25+ years of relevant training and solutions consulting experience. He has also worked for Xerox Corporation. While at PIA/GATF and Xerox, Frank has developed, launched and delivered many educational training offerings.
He speaks often at Printing Industry Forums and is a regular speaker at Graph Expo and On Demand Printing Events. Frank has been the author of many industry training courses and has recently worked with Intellective Solutions to design and develop sales courses on business development and variable imaging.
Mike Doran
Mike Doran is a producer/announcer for Intellective Solutions with 20+ years of Broadcast and Advertising Agency experience.
Mike began at NBC News and went on to spend 22 years as an VP Executive Producer at the legendary Doyle Dane Bernbach and its successor, DDB. As a writer and producer he has won every major award in the advertising business for a diverse list of clients including American Express, IBM, Hershey, ExxonMobil, the New York Lottery, Bristol Meyers, American Airlines and Amtrak and ad agencies including BBDO, Ogilvy, Arnold, and McAnn Erickson.
In the Graphic Communications Industry, Mike produced the audio and was the voice of the Print Shop Owner in Xerox's industry recognized ProfitAccelerator “Selling Digital Printing” series. He has also produced Intellective Solutions' audio series “Selling into Vertical Markets”.
Frequently used as an ‘off camera' interviewer, narrator, and character announcer, Mike is a graduate of Notre Dame University .
Alan Bergelson
Alan Bergelson manages Intellective Solutions' web-based programs, projects and process.
Alan is the founder of the Forrestal Companies. Alan also founded two other technology based companies: Tim brel Systems and Almedica. In each case, he has successfully designed, manufactured, successfully marketed and sold the use of applied technology solutions that improve vertical workflows. He managed Almedica to a position of multinational leadership until its sale in 1992.
Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in the application of remote and direct training programs for both sales and client training support. He has distributed technology products through both domestic and multinational channels while at Corning Medical, Timbrel and Almedica.
Alan has successfully integrated the use of computer based “on demand” printing applications in these markets: Pharmaceutical, Healthcare and Information Technology markets. Additionally, he has significant experience in the applied uses of digital imagery for graphic and print solutions.
Phyllis L. Mikolaitis
Phyllis Mikolaitis is Intellective Solutions' senior manager for curriculum design and development.
Phyllis Mikolaitis is an award winning curriculum developer and professional trainer. She was a successful sales representative and sales manager at Xerox Corporation. Phyllis' distinguished career includes multiple awards in both a sales and sales management. Phyllis has extensive experience working in Europe, Central and South America , Australia , and Asia .She has been a winner of the New Media Vision Gold Award for excellence in the development of multi-media for sales training.
Phyllis is a successful author of "Corporate Event Project Management", published in 2003 by John Wiley & Sons of New York . The book is used for the course she teaches at The George Washington University as well as other colleges and universities around the world. Her design and delivery reflect her extensive experience and bring a sense of reality to the classroom and the materials.
Doug Wink
Doug Wink is responsible for graphic design, development and print production planning.
Doug is an award-winning designer trained at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn , where he later taught graphic design and book arts. He has designed publications for Doubleday, The Pierpont Morgan Library, The Brooklyn Museum and the Museum of Modern Art . He has also designed materials for dance companies including Parsons Dance, Alvin Ailey and Dance Theater of Harlem, as well as the Joyce Theater and Jacob¹s Pillow. Today, he supports Intellective Solutions through his company, Inkway Graphics from a faux adobe pueblo in Santa Fe . He collects fountain pens to remind himself that email is only a passing freight train.

Jack Caffray
Jack Caffray's 30 years of experience in the Printing and Quick Print Industry have placed him as a recognized leader. Mr. Caffray founded Instant Copy of Indiana. He built the company into a 17 store chain and later sold it to Foster Management /Xyan. He also owned and managed Three River Software, a print shop management software company.
While operating Instant Copy, he established the Instant Copy Training Center ; an industry recognized training company attended by many current industry executives. Prior to this, he held senior sales and training positions at Addressograph-Multigraph. He was also a member of the Board of Directors for American Speedy Corporation. Jack Caffray is a recognized graphic communications industry leader.
Scott Clark
Scott Clark currently serves as a Partner for Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP, a large and global law firm. He practices in the e-commerce, communications, and technology arenas. His focus is on tax, audit and business issues. He obtained his J.D. from the Pace University School of Law, an LL.M. from Quinnipiac University School of Law and his B.B.A. from The George Washington University. He is also a CPA in New York State .
Previously Scott served as a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers, and also served in executive tax positions at the GTE Corporation (now Verizon). He frequently lectures throughout the country on e-commerce and the Internet. He has also been active in the formulation of the recent Congressional Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce. He has also served as senior editor for several leading law journals.
A. William Kapler, III
Bill Kaplar is an independent consultant, a businesses owner , actively involved in supporting a private equity firm. Prior to this career, Bill was partner at Accenture for over 20 years. He has extensive experience in implementing ERP and CRM systems. As a member of Accenture's Global Electronics/High Tech Industry Team, he worked extensively in the design and reengineering of major, complex, business processes.
Matt Livingston
Matt Livingston is the President of Sterling Institute Inc which provides consulting services, training programs, and diagnostic instruments that help clients improve both individual and organizational performance. Matt and his company have over 30 years of custom program design and development experience. Sterling Institute has conducted extensive research into how sales people develop and acquire new skills and the steps they need to take to improve their sales effectiveness and achieve the sales results expected of them. Matt received his BA from Colby College . Intellective Solutions is a reseller of Sterling Institute assessments and courses.
